Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use Cortexed. By logging in you agree to them. They’re written to be readable; please read them.
1. What Cortexed is
Cortexed (“we”, “us”), run by Cortexed, is a marketplace that connects people who want Roblox design work (“customers”) with independent designers and design groups (“studios”). We provide the tools: studio pages, commission and support tickets, chat, file delivery, payment checks, announcements and reviews.
We are not a party to the commissions. The agreement for each piece of work is between the customer and the studio. We don’t employ designers, and we don’t create, own or guarantee the work.
Cortexed is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Roblox Corporation or Discord Inc.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old and allowed to use Discord and Roblox where you live. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they are responsible for your use of Cortexed.
You must follow the Roblox Terms of Use and Discord Terms of Service while using Cortexed, including their rules about trading and Robux.
3. Your account
- You log in with Discord. Keep your Discord account secure; anything done through your session is your responsibility.
- You can link one Roblox account to pay for orders and to receive payouts. You confirm it’s your own account.
- One person, one account. Don’t impersonate others or create accounts to get around a suspension.
- Tell us straight away at support@cortexed.xyz if you think someone else is using your account.
4. Studios and designers
If you open or join a studio, you agree that:
- Everything you deliver and show (examples, banners, portfolios) is your own original work, or you have the rights to use and sell it. No traced, stolen, AI-misrepresented or resold assets passed off as original.
- Your ticket types, prices and delivery times are accurate, and you do the work you agree to in a ticket.
- If you accept support requests, you answer them in good faith. Order problems (late work, wrong files, refunds) are yours to sort out with your customer.
- Announcements are honest and about your studio. No spam, misleading offers or content that breaks these rules.
- You only request payment once the final files are uploaded, and you use items from a Roblox group you control.
- Studio owners are responsible for their team. Commission rates, how designers are paid and any payouts are between the studio and its designers. The Payouts tab is a record-keeping tool; it does not move Robux and we don’t guarantee its numbers.
5. Payments
- Customers pay by buying a Roblox item (for example a game pass or clothing) from the studio’s Roblox group. The purchase happens entirely on Roblox; we never receive, hold or transfer Robux or money.
- We detect purchases automatically and then unlock the final files. Detection can be delayed by Roblox; studios can also confirm a payment manually.
- Roblox keeps a share of every sale. Prices shown are what the customer pays on Roblox.
- Refunds: because payments happen on Roblox, we can’t issue refunds. If something goes wrong, use “Report a problem” in the ticket and we’ll review it (see Disputes). Any refund has to be arranged by the studio.
- Don’t try to trick the payment check (for example buying with someone else’s account or removing and re-adding items to get files without paying).
6. The work and who owns it
Unless the customer and studio agree otherwise in the ticket, once a commission is paid the customer gets a non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use the delivered files in their Roblox experiences, groups and related promotion, including commercially. The studio keeps ownership and may show the work in its portfolio, unless agreed otherwise.
Files stay available in “Your assets” for as long as your account exists, but please keep your own copies; we don’t guarantee storage forever.
7. Things you must not do
- Upload anything illegal, sexual, hateful, violent, harassing, or that breaks Roblox’s community standards.
- Infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Scam, threaten or pressure other users, or move deals off Cortexed to avoid its protections.
- Share personal information about others, or ask minors for personal details.
- Spam, post fake reviews, or manipulate ratings.
- Attack, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, or access accounts or data that aren’t yours.
8. Reviews
Only customers who paid for an order can review it. Reviews must be honest and about the order. We may hide reviews that break these terms. Studios can reply once.
9. Support, reports and moderation
Problems with an order (late or missing work, files, refunds) go to the studio through “Contact support”. Each studio runs its own support; Cortexed staff don’t step into individual orders.
Rule breaks go to Cortexed through “Report”: scams, stolen work, harassment, inappropriate content, impersonation, spam, or pushing payment off Cortexed. Reports are private; we don’t tell the reported person who reported them. Our staff review the report (including any ticket attached as evidence) and may dismiss it, warn, hide content, ban accounts or suspend studios. Our moderation decisions are final, but they don’t limit any rights you have against the other party. Making false reports can get your account restricted.
We can remove content or suspend or close accounts and studios that break these terms or put others at risk, with or without notice.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Cortexed is provided “as is”. We don’t promise it will always be available or error-free, and we aren’t responsible for the quality, legality or delivery of commissioned work, for actions of other users, or for outages and changes at Roblox or Discord.
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost Robux, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you is limited to AUD $50. Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.
11. Leaving, changes and contact
You can stop using Cortexed at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may update these terms; if a change is significant we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Cortexed after that means you accept the new terms.
